Unique's Insurance Coverage

Major Medical Insurance/Life Insurance: Unique provides life & health insurance to our employees after completing 1,000 hours.

Pre-Tax Cafeteria Plan: At the time of enrollment, employees may choose to pay for their benefits on a pre-tax basis. This is on a voluntary basis. You must sign an authorization card. Once enrolled, an employee cannot make a change unless a "qualifying event" occurs such as marriage, divorce, death of a spouse or child, or termination of employment. In the absence of a qualifying event, the employee will be allowed to discontinue the Plan only on the Anniversary date.

Disability Insurance: Employees eligible to participate in the Group Major Medical plan may also qualify to have a salary continuation plan. Premiums for the coverage are paid by the employee, at a group rate.

New Year's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

Employees are entitled to any of the above paid holidays if they:

  1. Work the day before and the day after a holiday
  2. Work at least 1,000 hours or more within a 7 month period and
  3. Work at least 40 hours the week previous to the holiday and 32 hours the week of the holiday
Take a Vacation!

Unique's Temporary Employees must work 1,800 hours, an equivalent of 45 weeks, to be eligible for one week vacation.

After two weeks following the completion of 1,800 hours, you will be sent a check for the amount equivalent to one (1) week's salary.
